Flexible Messaging Area

What is it?
A Flexible Messaging Area (FMA) is an area on any page of a website that provides a message to your audience. It is flexible in that while the area utilized on the page typically remains constant, the message itself can (should?) change and be rotated with like or varying messages created by you and your developer.

The area becomes a familiar space for the returning visitor to look for updated or new messages pertaining to an expected topic—your business status, special promotions, viewer topics of interest, et al.

The message can be one in a series of message for a particular campaign. Or it can merely be an added branding effort to convey a theme or impression about your business, services and products.

Why is it?
FMA's have evolved from the idea of animated banner ads, but when done right can go much further to convey messages in a professional and visually engaging manner. The evolution of the FMA is due to enhancements in pure creativity, Web connectivity and animation technologies such as Macromedia's Flash™ software.

Examples:

Cooking School FMA

Corporate Jet Sales and Charter FMA

Contractor Services FMA
